As part of its winter program of repairs C&RT undertook major repairs & gate replacements at Foxton Locks. Whilst the locks were dewatered C&RT held an open day to allow visitors to access the floor of the locks and see the work being undertaken.
View from the bottom lock gate of the lesser known of the two pubs at Foxton, Bridge 61.
View from the bottom of the lock where the water comes in and then on the opposite side a rebate in the lock wall to ease the flow of water, without this the side of the lock would, over time, be eroded.
View though to the side pound (top picture). The bottom two pictures show the opening and runners for the lock paddles to let water out of the lock.
